Lank Land and Cattle was established with one goal in mind: producing the very best Hereford in America. It is a dream inspired by a proud Texas ranching story that began in 1941 with Jasper Thurman Trew of McLean, Texas. His friends knew him as “JT” but more importantly, they knew him as a cattleman with an extraordinary eye for selecting the best breeding characteristics.

Today, those lessons and experience live on through the guiding hands of “JT’s” granddaughter, Jill Trew Lank, and her husband, Bryan. With the help of their daughter, Makenzie, and her husband Zack Mauney, this ranching legacy has brought its vision of producing America’s best Hereford to Weatherford, Texas.

Lank Land and Cattle is a little bit country, a lot of science, and four generations of proven cattle know-how. From the family rancher, to the commercial farmer, to the seedstock producer, L2C is your best choice for high-caliber animals bred with a certified, curated genetic profile.

In collaboration with Dale and Nancy Venhuizen of Churchill Cattle Company, Lank Land and Cattle is cultivating an entirely new Hereford herd. The goal is to produce genetically strong cattle with the look and structure of prime commercial stock or seedstock that is also extremely competitive in the show ring. L2C is super-charging the herd for you! We’re pairing superior heifers with select, high-quality sires, taking the guesswork out of the breeding process on your behalf. Our embryo transfer program is one of the industry’s most unique and ensures consistent, certified results.

In our quest to breed the very best Hereford in America, we discovered enlightened consumers want to know more about the beef served on their table. How and where was it raised? What was it fed? What kinds of nutrients, hormones, or other substances was it given? Lank Land and Cattle has committed comprehensive resources and procedures designed to trace every calf it produces, from inception to the butchering process. We’re not going to sell beef products we wouldn’t serve to our own family and friends. That’s a promise you can bet the farm on!
